Important Information for Requesting
to View Court Records

  • On January 1, 2012, and thereafter, pursuant to Florida Statutes 119.0714(2), the Clerk of the Court must keep social security numbers, bank account, debit, charge and credit card numbers confidential and exempt. This information is designated as non-public information by law. The Clerk is required to redact this information prior to releasing the file, document image, or automated records to the general public for viewing.

  • Additionally, Florida Statute 119.07(3)(a)(f), 800 and 827, requires that portions of certain court files that contain non-public information must be redacted prior to releasing the file, document image, or automated records to the general public.

  • The redaction procedure requires 24 hours per volume. However, if you identify specific documents that require redaction of non-public information for viewing or copy purchase, the redaction of information can be done immediately.

  • You can call ahead and request files at the Record Center, either in New Port Richey or Dade City, if you know the case numbers of the files you wish to view. If the request is for a large number of case files, (12 or more), please come to the Record Center prior to 3:00 p.m.

  • Note: If the file you need to view is closed, and has met retention requirements, it may be destroyed. Some types of files are maintained as a filmed record and are available for viewing at the Clerk & Comptroller's Office in the Robert D. Sumner Judicial Center in Dade City, and the West Pasco Judicial Center in New Port Richey.

  • Acceptable forms of payment are: cash, personal in-state checks with proper identification, business checks, money orders, and bank checks, Visa or MasterCard. Payments of fees and costs must be remitted in US currency. DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE.

  • If you plan to purchase copies, and pay with a check, wait until you are advised of the exact fees before completing the check.

  • Checks should be made payable to: Nikki Alvarez-Sowles, Esq., Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller

To avoid the busiest times in the Record Centers try to schedule your visit between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
